Container Delivery Checklist

Please read the following delivery information carefully and check all boxes to proceed.

Delivery Instructions

We don't move loaded containers. Please confirm you understand.

Please note that your container cannot be moved after it's loaded, and can only be used for storage at your location. If you need moving or off-site storage services, we offer a 10% partner discount with PODS.

Choose Door Direction for Delivery

It's not easy to turn a container around, so please let us know ahead of time which direction you'd like the doors to face when they roll off the truck at delivery. If required, the customer will be charged at $125/hr for all time associated with turning the container around at the delivery location.

Doors Facing TOWARDS Truck Cab

Container doors face the truck cab and are the last off the truck. Good for backing container up against a building or an obstacle.

Doors Facing AWAY from Truck Cab

Container doors face away from the truck cab and are the first off the truck.

Confirm Space for Delivery

  • Customer acknowledges they may be charged a dry run fee if the driver is not able to safely deliver.

To deliver a 10 & 20 foot container we require:
  • 75 linear feet for the truck to pull away from the container
  • 12 feet of width & 13.5 feet of height for the truck to fit
  • 16 feet high clearance for the container when tipped
To deliver a 40 & 45 foot container we require:
  • 120 linear feet for the truck to pull away from the container
  • 12 feet of width & 13.5 feet of height for the truck to fit
  • 16 feet high clearance for the container when tipped
Confirm Used Containers Have Rust & Dents

After reviewing the information below, customer verifies they understand all used shipping containers will have rust and dents.

Containers are all guaranteed to be structurally sound, and every container sold by Western Container is covered by the 3-year warranty.

(NOTE: customers who purchased a One Trip container should still confirm they understand, as One Trip containers do have a few dents, usually.)

Please Confirm You Will Call the Depot Before Pick-Up to Check for Availability and Inspect the Container for Leaks and Holes Before Leaving the Depot.

By clicking the box below, customer verifies that they will call ahead to ensure container availability and inspect the container prior to leaving the intermodal depot. Containers can be rejected if they are not structurally sound (doors that seal, floors free of holes, no leaks in roof etc.), but cannot be rejected due to appearance (all used containers will have rust and dents). The best way to check for leaks is to close the container door behind you and check for light peeking in where it shouldn't be. Please note: all customer pick-up containers must be returned to the depot for warranty work to be completed. Every container we sell comes with our guarantee

Confirm Delivery Surface

The truck that delivers you container could weigh over 45,000 pounds. If we're delivering on a soft surface (such as dirt or grass) please make sure your site can handle a heavy truck.

  • I understand that I must also provide a secondary delivery location with a hard surface in case the driver is unable to deliver to the preferred location on a soft surface.
  • I am responsible to notify Western Container Sales at least one (1) full business day prior to delivery if the delivery date needs to be changed for any reason.

Soft surfaces such as grass or dirt increase the likelihood of a dry run, usually due to the site being too wet for the truck to avoid getting stuck. Please make sure to contact us at least one day ahead of your delivery date if you need to push back delivery due to site conditions in order to avoid a dry run fee.

Timeline
Please Confirm the 3-Month Minimum Rental Charge

By clicking the box below, the customer verifies that they accept the three (3) month minimum rental charge. Any container called off rent within the first month is subject to two months of additional rental charges. Beyond the three (3) month minimum, there are no contracts and the rental is month-to-month.

How long will you need the container?

There are no contracts; this just helps us for planning purposes.

We understand you're busy. If there are any days you cannot accept delivery, we'll request the next available date with the hauler.

  • You will receive a confirmation email within one (1) business day of your delivery date.
  • Please note: we do not deliver on weekends or holidays.
  • Deliveries average 4-7 business days and you'll receive an email once your delivery is scheduled (and the driver will call when they're en route on the day of delivery).
  • We do not schedule delivery more than two weeks in advance.

Confirm you will return the container in the condition it came in.

Customer will be charged for issues such as graffiti, sweep out fees, door repairs, etc., if the container is returned in a condition in which it cannot be immediately re-rented to the next customer.

  • Please ensure the driver will have accurate contact information to avoid any delays or missed delivery attempts.
  • Please note the customer may be charged a dry run fee if we're unable to safely deliver on the scheduled delivery date.
